What headphones are you currently rocking?

A lot.

They jive with my preferences (which are not "bassheaded" in nature

) - and I think that has a lot (if not everything) to do with it.

I've been finding more and more that while I like balanced headphones, they very seldom do my taste in music justice.

One of these days I'll have to make my way up to 32 Ohm Audio again and see if I like the W5000s now.

I do. From what I've been told and read, the ringing is a symptom of the blockage. Nothing much can be done other than wait for it to pass.

Hey thanks for confirming. I was beginning to worry I'd overdone it with the headphones. The ringing is coming and going today so that's a good sign. I hope you're feeling better too.

I am currently rocking two sets of cans. I got the Th-900s in one "Headphone out" on my Amp, and Signature DJ's in the other. Doing a little A/B'ing for the Basshead thread. Unfortunately due to the blockage in my head, I'm having to keep the volume very low. Fortunately, both are grand performers with very little power going into them.

Home/school(sometimes) - sennheiser HD598s (to replace my old 595s that were falling apart)
Gym - ATH-CKM500 IEMs
Plane/general travel/school - sennheiser PXC 450s

I'm still sad that the cracking in the 595s got so bad that the cups started to fall off...

And I would say that the W5000 are balanced, but not neutral - if that makes sense. I dig'em with a variety of genres, but ymmv.

Got to demo some HD800s today at Echo audio in Portland, Oregon, along with another $4k in headphones as well probably...

Oooh, I've heard about Echo Audio but haven't been there. How is their selection? I remember before 32 Ohm Audio closed to walk-ins they had a pretty good selection, and I'd be curious to see how Echo compares.

They had a pretty nice selection of headphones: (no orthos other than a used HE-5 though)
