Anyone familiar with Yamaha receivers? I have a Rx-v665 and was wondering if it has a line-out? Are the pre-amp RCA output it? If so, why does the Yamaha knob have volume influence with my headphone amp? Should I set volume to 0.0dB or to 'MAX' like we do with portable sources?

I have the RX-V663. Are you using the pre-out jacks? If so then the receiver then functions like a pre-amp and has control of the volume. Are you using the receiver as a DAC?

Yes, I am using it as a DAC.

I have a buzzing in certain frequency of bass sounds only in the right ear. It happens with the headphone amp that is connected with the pre-out.
I don't have the sound if I use the Yamaha's headphone out itself!

If this a conflict between the amps? OR a dirty pre-out? or could the headphone amp require maintenance?
