I have been listening to these for a while now.

They sound better than CC51 and A151. I've been using the Comply TS400 with these. Shame that the housing on this is straight up garbage.

Ya I have to agree, I was surprised the CC51 didn't sound any better. I am thinking of using some fine grit sand paper and some files to shave off some of the plastic. Now this can be kinda risky because there is a risk of breakage but if you take a good look at the housing.. It is really thick.. My pair has been stepped on and dropped more times than I can recall so it is nicked and scratched all over so I am thinking of doing this.. I am going to attempt this and will throw up some pictures soon..

The goal here is to make the driver housing a bit smaller while making the stem a tad longer also will use model paint to color it something else.

More clear?  How you you describe it.. That is interesting. That wax guard is so thin.. I remember John from cali saying something how this affects sound..

Ya i did say something about it a while back. Dont feel like looking for it but basically(from what happened to my other IEM's it might sound brighter with a little more bass clarity but they might also get harsher and lose some balance. Ill try it in a little and report back. The differences should definitely be audible but whether it is better or worse i couldn't say till i tried it.
Also it isn't just a wax guard, it has specially designed acoustical properties in higher end IEM's(and cans) but i cant imagine much R&D or wax guard tailoring(ha) went into these.

It just depends on where people are coming from I suppose. I don't find them bass-light at all personally. Regarding the soundstage, they're plenty spacious really. They only sound average in that department compared to IEMs that cost 10x+ more. I've only heard a couple of times now where they squashed the instruments too close together for my liking. And again, that's versus what I'm used to with much more expensive 'phones.

Even those of you who don't care for the sound-sig, you have to admit the clarity and detail these things put out for $7 is pretty impressive.

I just don't understand anyone thinking they're bass light. If these are bass light, then the Westone 4 has no bass at all.

And a congested soundstage doesn't make any sense either. Not only are they dynamic, but they are vented. The soundstage is inevitably going to be fairly big for an IEM. When people make these comments, I'd love to know what they are comparing against, rather than just stating it to be so.

Meanwhile, at the Monoprice 8320 design meeting...

"Alright, so we're in agreement. It will sound like a GR07/EX600 substitute, but on the super-cheap. But what's it gonna look like?"

"I think we should make it big and bulbous, then put lots of really ******* jagged plastic bits all over it, so that it digs into the soft cartilage of the ear while worn."

"PERFECT!!!"

Am i the only one that isn't bothered by any "jagged edges"? i wear mine with the cable part coming from the top and wrapping around my ear, they fit perfectly and match the shape of my ear. Someone posted a picture of them being worn like that a few days back.

No, you're not the only one :) I have absolutely no issue with their size and also no discomfort after long term use, but I probably have ears that are above the average size of ears, if such a standard exist. We just have different size of ears, just as many other body parts!

The only thing that bothers me is that if i take them out too fast the tips stay in my ear, but that is more of a complaint towards my tips than the IEM's themselves.

[/]enjoy one of the best surprises ever in all of audio land.. Can you guys see how I can say they have about 92% of the sound of the EX600?  I was very surprised when I got the EX600 and they didn't just beat the tard out of the 8320s..These might lack that high end resolution but damn they sound good for casual listening.. Anyone that says the bass is lacking on these just haven't heard them with the right tune with the right eq as far as I am concerned.

I thought last week it was 94%, and "These sound stupid good. I'd like to think we are witnessing the best bang for buck on the planet".

Also, the police are still waiting for that photo.

I will take these to the depths of audioland.  May your dreams gently fall asunder, for these will perish into the soil.
