Both my Westone 4 and my Monoprice were ordered on the same day, arrival and comparison are inevitable. That's quite hilarious. A cheap throw away $7.11 earphone compared to (arguably) the best universal-fit IEM on earth that cost 56x as much!

lol. I'll be looking for that comparison.

Why did I click on this thread...not tempted. yet.

Hey thanks for the props there HeatFan12...There are some folks that don't like that I suggest $7.11 Iems around here though. lol!! Not over the ear.. The way they sit the chord sticks out from top and not from bottom.. I suppose you can wrap the chord around the ear but they sit fine These will add the detail that is missing from the HAFX1X. I think these will be a nice addition to your collection. I mean why not for the cost. Everyone that loves iems should have one. To think these actually cost less than half the price for even a HAFX1X. That is something .

Well, its a matter of ethics. At this price point, it is absolutely obvious that exploitation of workers in developing countries was involved to bring the price down. Not to say that higher priced headphones aren't produced the same way, but it would be blatantly obvious in this case.

However, the unfortunate matter is the only headphones you can be sure don't involve (massive) exploitation of workers are customs. Even if say, the headphones were made in Japan, its quite possible that some of the materials sourced for the headphones involved exploitation somewhere along the line.

Thanks, reading it now. I'm still shocked that it has detachable cables at its price. If they can do it for $20, any manufacturer should be able to. And I ordered the $7 iems. Will give my impressions once they arrive. :)

This. I can't see how it hurts, then the manufacturers have another line of products to sell... replacement cables. I very much would like for my grado to have a detachable cable (and I cant DIY it).

Exactly. I am going to order them as soon as they have them restocked. I always buy cheaper headphones, hoping to find a gem. I am hoping these IEMs are as good as you claim. Guess I'll know in a few days.

I haven't claimed anything, I haven't gotten my pair yet. My understanding in today's economy and market is that you get what you pay for, so I'm not expecting these 7 dollar headphones to do anything spectacular, but I am interested in seeing what they can do.

Any hiphop fans around here? tmars78? You are especially in for a nice surprise.  Actually everything I have sounds fantastic on these. But Hiphop and Trance/ Edm. Mind blowing.

Just organised a group buy for UK buyers. When they arrive I'll post an in-depth review and comparison against the holy-grail of neutrality - the ER4-S. It'll be my Denon DCD-510AE >>> Meier Corda Cantate.2 setup. So thats a very nice source IMO and an amp who's brand is renowned for their absolute transparency. Should be fun!

How about now?

It's less than a mediocre six pack of beers that gets pissed away.  That's how I justified it.

Damn. How can I argue with that.

As for the "slave labor" factor, sadly many products that many of us use fall into that category...like perhaps the clothes we (hopefully) have on right now.

Thanks for the pic Dsnuts. They remind me of a snail. They look OK. I prefer to go over the ear if possible but not a deal breaker.

My bad...I confused you with the OP. Multitasking has its pitfalls.

What gave me away as a hip-hop fan? The Jay-Z avatar? I'm looking forward to hearing them for sure.
