SEATTLE MEET @ FRONT PANEL EXPRESS 1/21/2012
Jan 21, 2012 at 1:30 AM Post #556 of 569
Took a stroll down I-5 to the Chehalis Tribe exit & back up to the edge of Lacey.. it looks good & very navigable, folks.  Some slush on the sides of the road but the actual roadway was completely fine.. just wet for the most part.. nothing we're not familiar with in the NW!  I've got to convince my wife the roads are fine now, though.. damn.

Build it, and they will come...

I am crossing all toes and fingers...but tried to get out of the driveway just before dark and only made it a couple of feet before going nowhere...if it doesn't improve and I try to make a go at it, my well-defined death wish will be no match for the velvet hammer my wife wields.

I never wanted warm rain so badly now....

I've driven both the I-5 and I-405 corridors today, and I have to say things have greatly improved during the afternoon. The parking lots are still snowy, but unless you have really low clearance it shouldn't be a problem. Be careful of hydroplaning on the freeways, there is a ton of standing water on the roads.

I thought I had registered for this event but I didn’t see my name on the list. I’m hoping it’s not too late. I’ve never been to one these gatherings before.

Last nights freezing rain has melted, the passes don't look to horrible, so I am going to show up.  I only have 30 min extra travel time, so I might be late.

My new setup I put together last year is a Burson HA-160 and Audio-Gd DAC-19 DF.  Still the same Senn HD580 cans.  Shall I bring?

Never brought a setup to a meet before. Do I need to bring my own power strips or are they provided?  Anything else I need to consider?

Hi guys.  Whether you registered or not, please do show.  We'd love to have you there.  I believe the early registration would make you eligible for the raffle, but you will want to ask Gil to be sure.  (I believe that was in the first post)  Otherwise, stop by and hear some of the stuff you want to hear.

In traffic and weather related news, for those of you who are on the fence even now (12:30 pm) you mihgt want to check the wsdot website to view the roads in your area:

I'll help fill up the floor by bringing my daughter with me. She's 14 and very interested in headphones and music.

Also, I just got off the phone with FedEx. My HE-400's are sitting at the warehouse in Kent. I'm going to swing by on the way to the meet and pick them up.

Here's what I'm bringing:

Peachtree Nova
Pioneer SACD/DVD player
Sennheiser HD600
HiFiMan HE-400

Won't be able to make this one. Can someone please take pics though? It would make my day.
