I can't imagine why you'd want to pair a warm-colored amp with the HD-650's.

just get a juicy solid state like an M3 or a receiver with a decent output and you're good to go.

I was just thinking the same thing.  PM me if you want to make a deal on the Headroom Microstack I have listed for sale.  I think it would be a great match for those cans.

the Nuforce Icon HDP.. sounds really analytical, its not musical at all (to my ears), I felt like it took all the bass out of my bass fun headphones at the time (Denon D7000/Ultrasone Pro 900).. The Peachtree Audio is a good bet, much warmer and very musical.

Best amp I've heard with the 650's is the Bottlehead Crack. This amp realy drives the headphones well, you can buy in kit form or fully built.

Warm amp + warm headphones isn't all that bad. Everything so smooth and creamy. Really good for extended listening.
