Has anyone heard the new Cavalli Audio stat amp?  Really curious how it sounds with the OII and SR-009.

Can someone at the show check out the new small-form-factor Wyred 4 Sound DACs? I'm very curious about those.

Thanks!

I'll have to track them down if I have time.

Any impressions on Eddie Current's in-development amps would be great (particularly the electrostat one  )!

Didn't see a stat amp at the EC table. The proto they had there was the Super 7. Listened to that with the AD2000 and it was nice, not something I would buy, but I could see why someone else might like it.

Re: the LCD-3...

I'm pretty green when it comes to reviewing these things but here's some thoughts - take them with a grain of salt:

1. They appear to be almost the size and weight as the LCD-2
2. They are, in fact, roughly twice the price
3. According to Audeze - there will probably be yet another new flagship phone in about a year or 2 (so you've been warned).  The Audeze guy said that there were "things I know we can do better, it just depends on how long it will take to make the changes."
4. They only had the LCD-3s out for demo, so they're pushing them.  They said they were still going to make the 2 rev.2, but the Jam was all about the 3.
5. Regarding sonics and musicality, that's probably better left to an owner of the LCD-2s.  I've heard the 2's, but not enough to get a feeling that these were much different.  At least to my nubile ears, there was not $1000 difference.
6. Regarding the use of the Zebrawood - According to Audeze, "it was cool looking."  Nothing about sonics here.  The pictures online are probably pretty close to the look and feel - maybe just a hint light, but pretty close.

My one-cent.

Oh no, is that and the HE500 the only phones at his table?

I'm at the UM table now listening to Merlins and the Miracle.
The Merlin was a nice listen fun bass and good tone but lacked layering and accuracy to my ears. I can absolutely see why people like this sound. The Miracle was better all around to me with less bass quantity but better defined bass. Tonally I found these very good and a step up from the Merlins. They also had better detail retrieval and head stage.
Overall nice gear

Agree completely as we spoke at the table. I found the UM demos all around pretty dull though. I think its just their demo problem. If I go with UM it would be the Miracle.

That's a great summary that agrees with my impressions even with the 009s on a lesser system. The 009s + high-quality re-mastered jazz and classical = serious win. Thanks for posting impressions.

My notes on the 009 WES combo are quite glowing. Every detail you could ever want is there with extreme clarity. Bass extension is ridiculous and bass volume and impact are just right. $10k well spent.

The EC table had AD2000 and LCD2. The 2s were on the balancing act.

Oh you quoted the wrong post I think. Ray has all kinds of stuff at his table and many in reserve behind. His table was last of the day for me so I only managed the Darkstar with the 2 headphones. The Darkstar is so powerful they blew up a pair of HE6 yesterday during setup. New pair coming overnight mail for tomorrow.

For the same money and much less space, the Peak gets the nod for me.

Interesting this shows how we all hear differently even when it comes to synergy. I never cared for the HD800s at all I heard them on the Peak and did not like them that much, then I heard them on the Eddie Current Super 7 and I could not believe how good they sounded! The Peak sounded cold and analytical to me but I only heard it briefly at a meet. I also loved the LCD 2s on almost everything I heard them on with the exception of some cheaper amps. For example they sounded horrible on my little dot MK III which normally scales well despite the price. But again everyone has their own taste.

No it was the right post, Craig used to have an HE500 too.  Thx though, sad to hear the Electra wasn't apparently there.

Did not hear the HD800 on the super 7. The truth is that other than on the Peak and Woo's new monstrosity, I think the HD800 is not a good headphone. Even with either of these amps I would still not buy that setup. It surprised me by sounding pretty good, but not enough to want to buy.
