ahsu7: Thank you for your comments. I have been reading about the high rates of failure, and given I'd be taking these outside the USA, I don't think I'll risk it right now.

Secondly, in terms of Amplification for LCD-3, will my crack amp suffice or would I need something else?

I'm not familiar with the Crack Amp, but my ak240 and cowon plenue m drive them fine, so I assume any external amp would suffice. I use a Studio Six, and the pairing is synergistic to say the least!

I am from Hong Kong, so I'm not looking forward to shipping my Audeze back to California.

Does anyone know the current cost to replace the wood rings on the LCD-3? Clumsy me chipped the left ring on my Woo stand.

Hi all,

For those who have experienced stuck mini-XLR in the headphone, is there any DIY tips to get it removed?  I squeezed that release button as hard as I could (sans tools) but it still won't release.  And squeezing and pulling harder (even when holding the receptacle in) was a bad idea as the whole darn thing is now loose.

I am hoping I don't need to ship this back since I'm in Canada.

Cheers,
-H

@PETEREK might be able to advise. He knows his cable stuff.

I don't know about stuck mini-xlr fixes, but I am based in Hong Kong and sent my headphones in last Monday for a dead driver, and FedEx is due to return them tomorrow! That is exactly 1 week for an international repair/return.

I guess if you CAN initiate a return with Audeze, they are extremely fast.

Thanks, guys.

I managed to use a small slot screwdriver to press the spring on the connector in more and got the connector off.  Audeze did get back to me and provided a suggestion to re-secure the receptacle.  Works so far!  No need to send anything in.  They even offered to replace my faulty cable.

Anyway, everything's back to normal again.

Hi there

Got a lcd3 non fazor and love the sound. Compared to hd600 I prefer the lcd3 because I don't want ever stop listening.

Thinking of getting a new headphone. Do you have any recommendations for a headphone? (same sound signature)

Check the screw is in tight connected to the gimbal ( black metal arch that links into either side of the cups) It has a locking washer behind it.
