Just found me a mint L3000, Santa was a bit late. :)
Should have it by the end of next week.

Congratulations of getting one of the all-time best phones, enjoy.

Thanks!

I will wait for the W3000 to burn in a little and for the HA5000ANV and L3000 to arrive before I post any impressions.
I expect to have both next week. The amp is in customs atm.
I also received the Yammy yesterday and it's burning in with music now.

Expect only some brief impressions though, I don't consider myself anywhere near the level of some of the reviewers here on Head-Fi.
That said, I plan to make some work of it and do a serious review of my amps by the end of the year. The gear needs some burn in first and I need to get used to their sound. I should have a Zana in a few months as well, I've contacted Craig Uthus yesterday for some more info. I think a review of these 4 nice amps might be interesting.
If anyone has some tips for the review, like which cans to use for the comparison, feel free to PM me.
Wasn't there a post or thread somewhere with instructions for making a review, or did I dream that?

As for comparisons between the L3000 and W3000, as I said I'll post some impressions but as far as I know their sound signature should be rather different, so I'm not sure how useful a comparison would be.

A question about these, how is the comfort? Do the drivers touch your ear?

These are extremely light and comfortable cans. No, the drivers do not touch your ears.

To me the description "extremely light" fits the W1000X more so than the W3000ANV

FWIW, I've been running these through an Apogee Duet during the interminable wait for the arrival of my new DAC/amp. This makes a very fine combo for those on a budget, with particularly good detailing and tone. particularly on acoustic music. For 300,00 or so used, a nice surprise

Not really, it's not a stadium but definitely not compressed. You know that there different inputs at the back, right? Which one do you use? Maybe this is a problem.

I'll be sure to check the flat/compressed issue and let you know. I sure hope it's not the case, as it's the ANV version I bought.

Thanks! I am really curious about your impression.

I don't know if a flat./compressed sound is what I thought since I don't think that is the way I considered it but there was some reason it picked the Yammy over the HA5000 when I was comparing them.

I decided to buy these back in November, but changed my mind right before hitting the buy button. I decided to wait until the honeymoon phase was over. Also the fact that impressions were all over the place scared me a bit. But I also thought...well... if I don't absolutely love them I can sell them. So finally the nail in the coffin for me was when someone listed them on ebay twice for a good bit less than they paid for them, they went unsold both times(don't know if they eventually sold or not..

But now after the initial honeymoon is over, most people are still loving them a great deal. I even noticed a few headfiers have sold some of their other cans. So I decided to take the plunge, and I'm really looking forward to getting them. From everything I've read it seems they have a very pleasing and unique sound, and I'm really in need of a really good closed can for the bedroom. And the prices seem to be going up on a few sites. One site have them listed at almost 2,000.00(ouch). So I decided I better get a pair before they are either gone or no longer affordable.

Yep, sold my T1, and going to sell my JVC DX-1000.  I can hardly believe it myself.  Still digging the W3000ANV.

LOL, Skylab that's just astonishing to me. Those are two headphones I never thought I would see you part with. I never thought I would ever see you without beryers, and I know how much you like the dx1000 as well. You must really love the AT's.
