Congratulations on the branching-out. Looking forward to reading impressions on these. I'm still in the market for a first pair of customs, eventhough sending ear-impressions to China will probably mean it will take forever to end up with a perfect pair. :)

Heres a list of all the stuff I'd like to see:

Glitter and other options for the shell, for the looks

A very cheap entry level option, as well as high end options, for everyone on a different budget

The ability of choosing between bass heavy, fun and neutral sound signature. This the most important part for me

FR graphs to be published openly, if the previous option was also implemented, a FR graph for every signature, this would also be very important, because this would make DUNU unique among all the other custom makers

I second that there should be options for people on different budgets as well as for the sound signature.

Dunu has made some really well built products and I hope that continues with these customs.

Hi guys,

I bring some new information for you, though it's might not satisfying.  Thanks for keeping an eye on this.

What I learned about it is,

1. Oversea service is not in consideration for now. It will depend on how successful we do in China.

2. Since no plan now, so no estimate service price.

3. The driver units apply with the same drivers like other known brands uses.

4. The sound is tuned according to user's preference.

5. Not disassemble after custom process. Not returnable.

6. No reshell service provides, too now.

7. The custom process take 30~35 days (Estimated time in China)

However, one great news is DUNU custom 4 drivers Earphone will appear at CES along with other DUNU products.

You will have chance to listen to All these Earphone with the very first hand experience.

I will also bring my own DUNU custom piece as well

, thanks for your patience.

Best,

So DUNU will be using Knowles drivers ? I don't understand why not to ship them outside of China, I mean, the buyers are the ones covering the cost. Would a re-mold destroy the IEMs or is re-molding possible ? I'll be keeping my eyes on CES 2012. Good to see DUNU reaching out to the communities out there

Well looks like Dunu is "testing" the waters for now, so to speak. This is a good move, it's not smart to bite off more than you can chew. See how it goes locally, gain experience in dealing with the associated problems of doing a customs service, once the learning is there then look to implement internationally. No biggie.  I have some Unique Melody pieces for now so I'll keep myself content with those, when I feel like getting something new maybe Dunu will be ready to expand to the international market.

1. Knowles drivers?
Yes, three Knowles drivers, plus another especially made for DUNU. However the tuning will be all by DUNU.
2. Outside of China?
It's not about the cost. Like Mochan said, step by step would be better way to do so. We are not rushing and want to keep our service and product at good quality.
3. Remold?
It will definitely destory the driver because the custom is by fill-in plastic material to fix the unit. The process is completely different than usual non custom earphones.

Thanks for bring out these questions.

Will the special DUNU driver be a BA or a dynamic ? I'll be keeping an eye on the Chinese sites for impressions

Edit: I might be going back to China to visit relatives soon so if I could save up enough for the DUNU custom I might be able get them
