CAn anyone comment of different aftermarket cables for the rev2. Just got the LCD2s yesterday and find them to be pretty amazing. Just starting some research on a cable down the road.

I read people saying that, if you feel the music you are playing now is good with stock cable to your ears, you are not encourage to upgrade them to aftermarket cable.

I checked out Warrior ants review of the Q cable and I like to hear that it doesnt really mess with the bass. Ill look into this one aswell.

Also for variance, check out toxic cables silver poison, I love mine, feels like an open window on to the music. All the folks at the local headfi meet preferred it to the other after market cables on hand as well.

The stock cable does sound good to me. You know how it goes here though. Once you read  about something possibly sounding better, you always have that in the back of your mind.

I like that Q cable has a satisfaction guarantee for this reason alone.

Talking about cables.  I would consider the Moon Silver Dragon's as well.  And if someone here wants to step up...........The Cardas!

Cables and improvement in sound is an endless discussion. Although I agree with WA that the Q cable improves the sound of the LCD-2, I would get it again just because of the form factor. You could literally tie your shoes with it, it's that flexible.

Schwallman,  I am probably a minority here but I do not like the thin super flexible cables that are all the rage these days.  I tend to like my cables well built, beefy, and thick without being cumbersome.  IMO the original cables that Audeze put out are nicer than the new super thin ones and are the perfect balance.  The LCD-2 is heavy as is so for me it's not like the extra weight or lack thereof makes a substantial difference either way.

The stock cable is in no way heavy at all to me. Sonically, it is good with me as well. I was just curious about what others are saying about an aftermarket cable opening them up. But if a cable can make these sound even better, then hell yeah I would like to see about it.

The stock cable is congested up top in the upper regions.  I didn't notice it until I went with the Q cable then I couldn't go back again.   The Q cable has more transparency and clarity.

Just as an FYI, I completely support WA's review.

When I got my Q-cable I hadn't read his or anyone else's impressions in some months. When I checked back the "changes I seemed to hear" were completely consistent with WA's description, after which  it seemed pointless to do a painstaking comparison of my own. So I didn't

The Q-cable has made a meaningful and positive difference in my system and in relation to my preferences, not to mention I really like its ergonomics, look and feel.

And to be clear, stock and Q-cable are the only ones I've "heard". I have no idea whether it's the "best" of those available, or even if it's "better" than the stock one in any absolute sense! Nor am I interested in the answers to these questions. But it "sounds better", and I'm happy with the cable and - btw - the patient and thorough support I got from Steve between purchase and delivery

I'm so happy with these LCD-2s. I've tried so many, trying to find the "right sound" for me. And even when I've found headphones that are close, the headphone's design and fit on my head always left me irritated. It's kind of funny that the LCD-2 are always talked about as being heavy and uncomfortable - and you won't get an argument from me (with them being heavy). Yet, they fit my head so perfectly! I can listen for hours and not have a single headache. The sound also doesn't fatigue my ears.

I finally feel at ease.
