very few of us own this. it is more popular in the DJ community. here is tyll's review, which is very reliable and good:

it is a very fine headphone, and deserves more attention than it gets on the forum. they are on the warm and bassy side, but not so much so that a "headphile" couldn't enjoy them. i like them very much, and physically, they are extremely attractive and solidly built.

I have some songs that have a good amount of bass and I also listen to some jazz. Oldies and some Michael Buble. I'd say detail of music is more important cuz if I can't hear what's going on in the song then its not worth listening to. I'd be ok with less bass. Not "light or non-existant bass" but a little less if it mean clarity and highs were there. Would these do it?

If you want to try these. Getting the HDJ500 is not a bad idea as all the DJ line from Pioneer share the same sound signature. The higher end cans are bit more refined in the sounds but I can tell you there is nothing lacking on the HDJ500. They are a blast to listen to and will cost you $85 online..

Check my profile for a review comparing the pioneer vs the 840, M50 and Q40. In a couple days I should also have one comparing the Pioneer vs the HD25, DT1350, T50p (and hopefuly the M80 and TMA-1 in a couple weeks).
