CMOY battery life

Ummm, battery life is affected by a lot of things:

1. What kind of cans you use

2. What kind of battery you use

3. If you used more than one battery, whether you wired those batteries in series or parallel

4. What the power draw of your LED is

5. What kind of opamp you used

6. What you really mean by "55 hours" -- is that cranking continually with music, or just idling time, or 55 calendar hours with some off time in there

7. How loud you kept it cranked up (affected by your cans, your ears, your taste in volume levels, and how much juice your source puts out)

For what it's worth, my cmoys with my music and my sources, and my cans and my particular implementation choices draw anywhere from 10-20 mA. A single alkaline 9V battery is 600 mA, and a AA is 2850 mA.

I did the numbers once, and 10 AA's would drive one of my cmoys for about 2 months if I left it on all the time. See what I mean about having to qualify your statements?

Wow. This was continuous music. Running Sennheiser hd580s. Moderate volume level. -3 on the denon, and about a half turn on the cmoy pot. 2 months!!??? Wow!
