What amp, home or portable complements grados the most? I know my minidisc will be able to drive them loud, however at very poor quality compared to a reciever.

I find my Creek OBH-11 makes for a good combo with both SR-60 and SR-125.

I thought the Creek was a good match with the Grados before my DI/O came along. The amp complements the Grado punch with a full bodiness in sound. With the DI/O though, the Creek sounds 1 dimensional and hazy. I'm disappointed but at least I've got the cmoys to substitute it with. They're grrrreat!

btw, all power supplies are stock, and no tweaks on the DI/O except tube removal; cables are AR "Pro" series.

EDIT:

Well, I've experimented with different digital cables and phono-RCA adapters, and I've found a match that works very well with the Creek. I'm happy to say that the DI/O really adds oomph and detail to my source after settling on AR digital coax (the basic Home Theater ones) and gold plated Radio Shack adapters. These were both very important to the Creek amp for reducing the grain. The low quality items I started out with made listening through the DI/O a miserable and painful experience. It took a while for me to figure this out as I've had to let my dac burn in, and get an adequate AC adapter (1.5A)for it. The Creek is certainly a picky person though. My Apheared amp would sing with the DI/O even if I strung them .together with paper clips. Not so with the Creek, but finally a match!
