I was listening to my Stax system and did something rather out of the unusual.

When I wanted the music to stop, rather than turn of the source first, I turned off the amp (313).

To my shock, for a period of 10 seconds or so the music continued to play - despite the fact the amp was off. One side finally died followed by the other side.

I have never observed this before, but it was cool.

Does it have something to do with this?

When you turn the amp off, you're just waiting for all of the electricity stored in caps and tubes and such to drain.

Yeah, it's the capacitance, even after you turn off the power supply the capacitors in the circuit continue to hold charge, so the amp plays until it runs out. And if it lasted for 10 seconds, it means that your Stax amp has some pretty damn large capacitors in there...
