Grado's didn't come with a converter...

...so I figure I might as well look at amps. Both my Senns came with plugs to step up / down (555's came with a 1/4" to 1/8" and the 280's came with a 1/8" to 1/4") so I put off buying an amp. I decided that I shouldn't wait.

What would you recommend for a desktop amp? Current budget is between $200-$500. I would really like it to accept input from my iPad / Phone / computer if possible.

If you want an amp, that's great, but I'm pretty sure one of your other plugs will work with the Grados. If not, one can be had for MUCH cheaper than an amplifier.

For amp suggestions though, based on your current possession, a SS amp like the Schiit Asgard, Matrix M-Stage, or FiiO E7+E9 have been recommended quite a bit with great reviews. All are around $200, so I'm not quite sure on anything over that range, I'll leave that to another poster.

I'm sure they can all be driven fine without an amp. I would like to start using an amp though.
