Hello

I am a happy newbie that produce trance, house and DnB with my Genelec 8040. I have a Novation ReMOTE 61 SL to controll all my soft synths and a fatar vmk-188 plus for piano lessons.

The music I do is towards darker Drum and bass and harder trance music. I need a pair of great headphones, so that I can create during late hours without disturbing.

Maybe this is overkill, looking at the most expensive headphones. I am looking at Beyerdynamic T1, Denon AH-D7000 and Sennheiser HD800 to handle the task.

Yesterday I took the time to audition Beyerdynamic T1 and Sennheiser HD800. Unfortunately I didn´t have any music with me, so I couldn´t judge the bass performance.

HD800 is more reavealing than T1, but I found that they were kinda fatiguing. They both sat good on my head, with T1 being the winner.

I have yet to audition Denon AH-D7000.

The headphones should be able to reproduce bass very good.

Which headphone would you say fit the bill?

Thanks

You want audiophile headphones for producing?

Not going to work all too well.

Now in all truth, you might need a HD800 for listening in on your audio clips to edit and then produce them, but they are not needed for producing.

And then electronic music isn't highly compressed and revealing in the end, so any old can that runs 20-20,000 will work.

Go for some MDR-7509HD

I use a pair of MDR-V6 because I've already broke a pair. But the 7509HD are great cans that will do and play anything you wish without a huge price tag.

Also, to play higher end cans, you need to have a set up greater then the cans themselves. So if you want a $1500 expect to pay $1500+ to be able to make them perform at their greatest.

there's also a reason why music producers don't use higher end cans for their work.
