wanted: sony BP-2x batteries

anyone have a line on functional Sony BP-2X battiers for the old

line of D25 portable cd players????

or creating a battery pack that would work with it?

Not "real"ones, but maybe try these:

 But these are lithium ion, whereas the originals are nickel cadmium.  Might run into problems charging these using the circuitry in the D25.  Maybe you can locate or fabricate a charger meant specifically for li-ion.  As far as I know, no one makes ni-cad replacements for the D25.  At least I have not been able to find any for the last few years.

The link goes to a site that says they have them, but its a cul de sac cause

yes i ordered them, and got a note the next day that they were unavailable and my paypal account would be credited

in two days, which it was.  very frustrating!  talked to ALO audio where i bought the new old D25 unit, which plays

via wall wart fine and sounds fantastic, but they said they didnt have any and couldnt find any either. so

still looking....thanks, drblue

I TRIED AGAIN!  but although the sony bp-2x is listed on the battery company website they sent me an e mail

saying they were not available and could not be ordered!  so my wonderful vintage cd player is "less than portable"

it is still tethered to its wallwart!  cheers, drblue

Unfortunately, i dont have one of the old dead sony bp-2x batteries to do this.  great idea though!  thanks!  cheers, drblue
