Looks clean and aside from the features, how does the DAC fare against the one in E7? About same price as E11?

What is this and why must I have one? Is this a true upgrade to the E7?

Any price range, James?

Don't think this is the true upgrade to E7, E17 should be the one.

I knew of the E17, but James said they'd hold back on that since the desktop amp+dac all in one is supposed to be out first.

It is not upgrade to the E7, it has not build in battery, so you can not use it as a amp on the road. the price will be cheaper than E7 because it have not OLED, MCU, battery and without dock, and the case also cheaper.

That one is called E15, so it is face to different people , only depend on how will you use it and how much will you like to spend. I hope everyone can find a suitable FiiO product.

Somehow, the Fiio product range expanded rapidly and starting to get confusing...

our roadmap is quite simple,

Portable use, E3-E1/E5-E11-E7-E17-X3-(X3+E11)-(X3+E17)

Desktop use, D3-D5-E10-E9-E15-(E7+E9)-(E17+E9)-(X3+E9)

Or

Amp only, E3-E1-E5-E9-E11

DAC+Amp, D3-D5-E10-E7-E17-E15

All by price.

Would the SQ of the E10 be better, same, or inferior to the E7, just without a battery?

Me, I'm considering selling my E7+E9 just for the E15, since I only use my E7 as a DAC anyway. The E10 sounds like a nice product I would have bought instead of the E7 since I'm always plugged in.

The SQ will depend on our user, but it may have similar output power as E7, and THD etc,

Sorry for that, because I can hardly tell you the which will be better in SQ . let us see what happen in the future.
