Can anyone post their opinions of these 2 phones in direct comparison?

I've heard the Denon's and like their sound, but hate the cable on the D2000. How does the shure srh940 compare?

I haven't compared how they sound, but last week I was facing a decision of one or the other myself and went with the SRH940s (I already own the SRH840s) because.... I keep reading the screws loosen up and/or shear out on the Denons:

Worse still, I read that Denon apparently does not have the screw in question available for purchase and requires the headphone to be sent into them for repair.  Aarrgghh!

In my view of things no matter how good a headphone sounds, if it isn't built well mechanically I have no use for it.  The Shures seem to be built like tanks.

If you like the D2000's stock sound, you may not like the SRH940 due to the sharp decrease in bass.

Technical speaking, the SRH940 has the advantage, and runs great straight out of an MP3 player.

Built quality, D2000's is miles ahead of the all creaky plastic of the SRH940. Except for the screw.
