I have an ipod touch 4g and ordered a fiio e11. I declined on getting the regular L3 LOD line out cord since I had a L3 fiio e1. But when I thought about it the regular L3 LOD might give a even cleaner output while draining less battery.

Which one is better to get and why?

And what does L3 mean? Is it different than L1 or L2?

Hi!

L3: Line Out (unamped output to 3.5mm plug)
L2: 3.5mm plug to plug cable, does not use line out but amped headphone out
L1: same as L3 but smaller with no push to release buttons (sticks to ipod dock unless pressed)

E1: Line out with Amp, draws power from iPod, has no own battery

Using an E1 with an E11 is besides the cable mess a double amplifying that is not recommended. The amp of the E1 is of lesser quality than the E11. Also you have the E1 using power to amplify from iPod and then amplify again with the E11.

Best option: L1 or L3 Line out dock to E11, better soundquality and longer iPod battery life.

Cheers,
K

but so far I cannot make any quality difference with my UE 700 listening to the same 320 kbps songs?

am I wrong or got some problem with my ears :-\

Interesting. Maybe try E5, E6 or something better?

Hopefully not mate :-|

I guess that is because of E1 is just $19 amps.
Now I'm using DENON music apps with the builtin 10 bands equalizer which makes it sounds better.
