probably a dumb question.. but could this work??
no this is not a joke...

start with an ipod...

get one of these - Apple digital AV adaptor

connect it to one of these...

then hook up an rca to stereo mini cable like this one...

and plug all that into something like a JH3A which has a digital input and built in dac...

i know this sounds absurd, but i just want to know if it could actually theoretically send a digital signal all the way to the dac.

thanks

This won't work. The RCA cables alone are transmitting the signal via analog, and that's disregarding all that came before it.

yeah, if that isnt a toslink, then no it wont work. it will just give you a stupid ass LOD with several conversions and jitter city.

This doesn't look like it will work as dual rca is never used for digital.
It would most likely turn out a ridiculous lod like most have already said.

Apparently a lot of people do not understand jitter.
It is completely in the digital domain, cables don't add more jitter and it is not audible unless at ridiculous levels.
