Still do.  Westone too (not sure about large canals though).  Vinyl or Silicone.  Forget who did Kunlun's.

AFAIK, ACS don't do custom tips for Westones anymore as 'plenty' of Westone owners kept having issues with the tips - basically, the custom tips kept sliding off the nozzles & housings.

I think Kunlun's custom tips were done by 1964 Ears, and he needed a refit.

I meant Westone does custom tips too.  The 1964 tips didn't work out, I think someone else made him a working pair.

Didn't read your post properly. Guess I'm still a bit sleepy (morning time this side of the pond.)

Didn't know how it all went with Kunlun's tips in the end, just remembered he'd had a refit.

I'm pretty satisfied with my EX-600.  I've owned 1000, but based on memory, 600 sounds about the same.  I'm into accurate balanced sound, so my customs, Etys, and CK10s trumps the 600, and I would say the same for 1000.  The Sony's are fun to listen to because of the airy sound.

IMO those who love the Etys and CK10 will most likely not put the EX600/1000 very high on their list, and vice versa. I believe this has less to do with accuracy and balance, but more with an individual preference for a certain sound signature.

Well I liked the ck10 (though sold because it was harsh with trebly music), and I love my EX600.
It does remind me of ck10 for its extended bass though not much quantity.
really airy sound. These IEM sounds like it is not an IEM, nothing of the closed IEM sound. It may be due to fit but I am loving the sound so this is how it will go.

Yup, CK10 doesn't have much bass quantity, and I'm begining to sense a correlation between bass quantity and number of drivers.

by airy, I do mean soundstage, don't know for sure if there is that kind of relationship.

If you guys have a tub amp, try it with tube amp at low gain setting.  Let me know what you think.

I think the tube amp gives it more of a full-sized headphone character to the sound.

Don't assume such things; bass quantity has no correlation with the number of drivers (BA is what I suppose you mean.)

Take the Westone 4 for example. It has 2 BA drivers that are dedicated to bass, yet again and again I see people describe them as neutral, or going so far as to say they are bass light.

We all hear differently, I must say again, because the EX600 doesn't sound bass-lite or anemic to my ears. It's not deep bass in quantity like the FX700 or 1964-Q, but I definitely get good solid bass impact. Then again, I mainly play it connected to my Fiio E7/E9 DAC/amp. And I also get a pretty deep fit. Now, outside, I can't really hear the bass, so the EX600 is definitely and indoor iem for me.

by "airy", you guys must mean a certain quality that has to do with soundstage right?

In my book airy means that there's a lot of space around instruments and/or the soundstage appears kind of "limitless". Imagine an open air concert vs. an indoor venue. Even in a large concert hall the soundstage will still seem somehow confined, whereas out in the open it will appear limitless.

Also difference between 1964-T and Quads. My CK10 and Etys do not have as much bass as a triple drivers, or dynamics.  Ety is one BA, and CK10 is two.  I really want to customize my TF10 as an experiment to see if customs do tighten up the sound.  If the reshell turns out to be as good as my 1964-T.  That would tell me alot.

Well the UE Eleven has more bass than the UE Ten, so he is partially right..

I fail to see how stating that the CK10 and the ER-4P not having as much bass as your 1964-T backs up your claim that the more drivers = more bass. They were tuned so they wouldn't have a lot of bass. Do you think the e-Q5 or Final Audio A1 are lacking in bass?

It's all about tuning, not how many BA's you can stuff into a mold...
