Hey guys, I don't talk at all on xbox live so I was wondering if I could use my soon to be Jh 13's as my headset.  Anyone have experience with this?  Will the explosions in the game drain the life of my iem's or something?  Let me know if any of you have done this and the results :)  Also, yea I think I"m going to need an adapter to plug in my iem's into the controller.

I don't think the audio coming from the controller is stereo, just mono.  One channel for the earpiece and one channel for the mic.  If you wanna use IEMs or headphones with a gaming console you'd need something like the Astro Mixamp or the like.

You could also use an adapter and merge the two RCA cables into a 3.5mm jack to use with an amp.  (If you're not using hdmi)  Something like this:

With the 360 you will really need an amp of some sort because there's no other way to control the volume.  I've tried this before and it worked pretty well fro me.
Also, you really can't really drain life on IEM's.... they last for ridiculously long times and I really haven't ever heard of anyone wearing out balanced armatures.  Explosions in the game probably aren't any different from just drum beats and bass.  The only thing you could damage them with is probably having them at excessively loud volumes although the level you wouldn't be doing that with them in your ears.

I use my UM3X with the astro mixamp on things such as rockband and it sounds excellent.
Also for positioning if you use the optical and turn on the dolby headphone that works for COD etc...
