I already have an IE but now im thinking of getting a pair with more fun to it. It does sound too laid-back, but sounds amazing on laid-back-type of music. Would the TD-III sound different enough from the IE to have both?

Sure - the TD-III is definitely oriented more towards fun, as are all Xears sets. There are many ways to achieve a bass/mids-heavy signature and the IE and TD-III do it differently.

Which are better xcited or xcape for the music : drum&bass/liqud dnb, a little bit of dubstep? Or maybe even RE0 are better?

The IE or Xcited, I suppose, depending on whether you like warm and laid-back or bright and crisp. I'd go for the Xcited since it's cheaper.

I went for a Impressive edition, it cost me 60pounds/100dollars. Xcited hovewer were by 10 quid cheaper/80dollars. Is it an okay choice? I read that IE has better bass, so I choose IE, or maybe I should choose Xcited? :|

The IE does have better bass. It really comes down to the type of sound you prefer - v-shaped or bass/mid-centric. You'd only be able to make the distinction after hearing one, if not both, so I don't think you've made a mistake with the IE.

are you giving any of these ones a 10/10 value like the v1 ?

No, I'm just not as impressed with either quite as much as I was with the old one.

omg the housing on the xcape ie split open....

now i gotta find superglue or something :xf_eek:

after all i've been through I would have to rate build quality 2/5 on these :/

on side note. one final comparison. how does the ie sound compared to a more expensive ath ck10?

hi joker
i got the xcited last week. the housing are longer than the Re-0/zero. it doesnt seem a big difference, but my ears notice it, making it critical.
while the RE0 fit me very well and comfortable , i cant say the same for the sunrise.

how are the Dunu Ares (and crius) compared to them?
thanks

Depending on where the problems lies, the Ares/Crius may not fit you any better than the Xcited. They are heavier and wider in the middle than the RE0/Xcited but taper a bit at the front (especially the Ares) and at the rear.

Wow, your impressions of the Xcape IE looks great and sounds like it's fixed upon the Xcape v1 flaws while having a more coherent soundstage. Surely the new sub $100 king?

Definitely a contender but not something I'd recommend indiscriminately as it does trade off some of the v1's clarity and most of the analytical edge for the gains it makes in other areas. Personally, I like the v1 best, followed by the IE and RE-ZERO, and then the Xcited.

Do you think the Xcited is better than the PR401 overall? I don't think the Impressive Edition is for me. I'd probably like to get one or the other, but they are 0.5 points apart on the list :p
