Disagree on both. I personally like the Coppers more than the SE530s when I heard them side by side.

Are you serious, my SE535 can take those out in a heartbeat.

Have you actually heard both?  Please explain the difference for the OP - based on your actual experience with both IEM's.  I'd be interested also.  A detailed comparison would be nice .....

Everybody has different tastes.  One IEM may "blow" for one person but be amazing to another.  But instead of just saying that one "sucks" and is better than the other, please give an explanation so you don't confuse people...

In response to the OP, that's actually a pretty good price for them.  If you think they have the sound signature you're looking for, $220 is pretty good.  I've actually never seen them that cheap before...are they on sale or something?

Na, but there is a reason reason why there is a price difference.

Cifani - I believe you are familiar with this thread - http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/270280/stop-recommending-gear-you-ve-never-heard-rant-warning

Can I suggest that you might like to re read it.  OP wasn't asking about your Shures.  He was asking about the Coppers.  I agree the Shures are an excellent IEM  - I actually like the Shure signature myself.  But if you have no experience with the Coppers at all - then how can you say that your Shures are better.  You really wouldn't have a clue.  So can I suggest that you please stop making outrageous comments - unless you can back them up with clear succinct reasons why the Shures are better than the Coppers.  EG - a side by side comparison based on strengths and weaknesses of each.  And not what you've read - but what you've experienced would be nice.

azncookiecutter - I'm also interested - because I haven't heard the Coppers myself.  Can you describe the difference between the two signatures (Coppers vs Shures).  I'd appreciate your impression as you've actually heard both.

Leo - what sort of sound signature do you prefer?  From what I've seen, that's not a bad price on a new set of Coppers.  Plus if I understand it correctly, because you purchase new - you get the original owner's free one-off replacement.

He was asking if they are good for the money, if he read the threads about beats, bose, etc, etc, he would know there not Fi friendly. OP here is a thread that may help you for your price range

This is going from memory, but the mid-centric sound signature of the SE530s made things really plain, at least to my ears. I greatly preferred the bass and sizzle of the Coppers. To be fair to the Shures, the mid-centric sound signature lends itself to vocals very well. Really depends on what genres you listen to. Going from impressions, I'm interested in the SE535s, considering the sound signature tweaking going from the SE530s.

Thanks!  Might have to see if I can 'demo' a pair next time I'm in the US.  They sound interesting.  I've heard the Gold's briefly (an associate has them in NY) - and I was very impressed with the bass - but also the clarity.  I'd love to try the Coppers - especially at the price point the OP listed.

Cifani - you may want to read this review - http://news.cnet.com/8301-13645_3-10453989-47.html

Steve Guttenburg is a very sound reviewer.  It may open your mind on the Turbines vs the Shures.  Two very different sound signatures - but both very good for what they do .....

I can't believe you just said that. Judging from your previous posts in this thread, it is obvious that you have some sort of stigma against Monster; I myself had this same stigma towards them until I heard the Turbines and MTPC. And saying they're "not Fi friendly" is just plain wrong: they are highly regarded as being a very good dynamic IEM.
