UE 700's- one of the most underated IEM's I've ever heard.

I picked a pair of used UE700 up for $9.99 AUD on eBay which were in need of repair. Someone played a mean trick on the previous owner cutting the jack off with scissors. I soldered a new jack on (always fun with the tiny enamel coated wiring) and BAM brought them back to life. They sound really really good! Very impressed, I would lean towards saying unless my UE900 were faulty I like the sound signature of UE700 more.

I had a couple pair of these over the years - the 700 was an excellent job of tuning a TWFK driver - but in the end, the low frequency response, while punchy and accurate, was a bit light for me...

And the cable needs to be kept an eye on....

My first serious IEM's were the UE700. I thought WOW the models above them must be awesome!!!!!....LOL.
As I started to add to my collection they were listened too less and less. I eventually traded them away for another model and regret it still 7 yrs later, I love them but $245 as shown below in the Amazon ad is just too expensive...
Someday I'll find another pair.

I used to wear mine over the ear and i absolutely loved them. I purchased a pair that had the shallow nozzles at first and then bought a pair from Logitech direct that had the longer nozzles. These earphones made me believe in realy audio... I recommended them to a friend who later said he cried when he listened to some tracks!

I cannot find these anywhere and the places that do sell them are so damn overpriced its unreal. Still I'd buy them if I knew they weren't going to break.

The crazy thing is (and check this out if you don't believe me) the only thing I have found even remotely comparable are the SE535s. I know what you may be thinking, but side by side the only difference is the extended bass (slightly) on the 535s. And I shure as hell (ha, see what I did there!) am not going to shell out 400+ dinero on those...

My question is, well more a request - does anyone know of any IEMs that even compare to these gems?!?! Please suggest - I'd love to hear what you have to say :)
