Please post your impressions once you've spent sometime with them, Cass. I'm debating on getting these or a different pair of closed cans. Might just go with these as they seem like a safe bet...

Well, i am sure that you can't go wrong with these. I have the coiled version and spent about 3 hours listening to them (they are very comfi, nice ear-pads) I can tell you that they sound very natural which falls in my taste. The bass responce is very good, listen to various bass tracks and with an EQ or without, they will do good on that area. Mids and highs are okey, I like the sound of them and i get the idea that it is a good all-arounder with superb bass for the money ... but i will breif you guys with my burn-in is finished.

Exactly man..
These babies arrived mi casa today and they are as you describe them to be..
Quite comfi and most important is that you get the feeling that it will stay on your head without moving back and fourth...
The only difference from you is that i used them with a Fiio E7 connected to my mp3 player and the bass had more depth from the first track..
I found myself dancing im my room feeling ecstatic...I am totally in love with them!!
Now speaking i am burning them in whith pink noise and waiting for them to become more 'mature'..

I'm in the same position as the OP - I ordered the M50 last week, but won't probably receive it for at least another week as I ordered it 1st priority mail from the USA to Canada. Soooo much anticipation!! Good thing I picked up some MEElectronics M6 IEMs to tide me over.

Ecstatic is precisely the word and they are soild as a rock too. I love the engineering on this product.
I also want to get a Fiio E7 and are expecting to order them when I get this month salary. My only concern is if it will make a differrence...

I'll pay $150 with taxes/etc once it arrives - pretty good considering the price in Canada is around $200 before taxes!!

I'm pretty sure I'll be bouncing around too. :)

Sure you hit the jackpot..
I brought them to Greece for about 160 U.S dollars and no additional cost passing from Greek customs because they were sent as a gift  from the seller..

I think we can all agree that getting a package with head-fi gear is the best.
It does not get better :)

If you could wait a couple of days i can give you some info about the Fiio E7/m50's combo...
I must wait for them to burn in before jumping to conclusions...

static noise. basically static = random fluctuating noises of all frequencies, so it gives the headphone the most work-out. supposedly.

Looks like we have a bunch of happy or soon to be happy Head-Fiers!  By the way, Optimus Praim you have both an awesome screen name and avatar.
