[Listing] Canadian Companies/Retailers

Thread Starter

I'm transferring this over to the main Headphones forum (original thread here). This started off as a search for Canadian manufacturers, but it has expanded since then.

I'm mostly focusing on Canadian manufacturers/distributors/retailers of headphone gear and trying not to branch off into regular home theatre stuff. This is head-fi after all.

If you know of any more, please let me know.

Why shop Canadian? Because shipping/brokerage fees kill us. I've tried ordering $100 headphones before and had fees come up to over $120 (so $220 in total... needless to say, I cancelled the order).

Just recently added AudioBoutique which has the AlgoRhythm Solo and German Maestro Headphones for not much more than US prices, and they have free shipping on headphone stuff for orders over $300.

6.5% of import duty was paid by the importer.

Sorry, I should have been more clear. My fees were $120 in addition to the $100 for the headphones.

Must've been shipped by UPS. You can get much better deals with a retailer like B&H, Ritz or Amazon who give you final charges up front and brokerage/tax/duty is never that significant. Final cost is usually ~25% more

US retailers can not ship Grado headphones into Canada. You have to buy it from an authorized Canadian dealer at stupidly jacked up priced. The better alternative is to buy an Alessandro headphone (the MS1 being the cheapest, and is the equivalent of the SR80/125)
