Recommend headphones for metal

Haha, I understand the benefits of purchasing used (value, burnt-in, etc).

But I'd would prefer not to, as I like the experience of unboxing the item.

I've read that the M50 while extremely good, has powerful bass... and I'm guessing it can overpower my music, what I originally wanted was something similar to the SR60i, that works well with rhythm guitar without too much bass. I've still gotta do some research on Superlux.

In that case...

Fostex T50rp

I've heard the odd Superlux headphones over the years and I was never impressed (not even enough to remember the model numbers). But you are missing out on getting much better gear for less $$$. And basically all the stuff I've sold over the years has been basically like-new.

I wouldn't buy anything that the guy complaining about buying second hand suggests. And like everyone else has stated buying used around here is a good thing to do. The only real exception to buying used is when it is for a gift, it's always better to give new.

LoL..I'd take a set of used Sony R10s over any brand new Q701s any day as a gift from someone.

Nice score! Ignore the tyoung8 guy. I got most of my stuffs pre-owned, and all of them are still living. The 2nd-hand market is a haven for students like me.

The Superlux have gotten great reviews and considered to be a giant killer from its cheap price and great quality - particularly the 668B.  That is semi open headphone tho so you might want to look at the 662 series instead.
