Sennheiser mx980 and OMX980 exact same?

Does anyone know if these are the exact same headphones aside from that OMX has a clip? I'm probably going to get an OMX just wanted to make sure they weren't different.
 
Also, does anyone know if when amping them, it would be better to get an amp for cans or iem's? since they are neither. I'm not sure which to go for.

Thanks for the info, omx it is then, about the amp, I don't think they need much so I'll probably just get one of the weaker amps like a t3d, if it doesn't do the trick I can always go bigger.

If I were you I would not amp them at all or buy something better than T3D from the very beginning, you will buy it to find out it does not do much.

It also depends on your source though. I have been using them with my Sony Walkman X1060 which seems to be pretty good for driving little buds like MX8980s.

The source is a cowon X7, it's supposed to have a pretty good sound, but it's a large DAP, like the size of an iphone, so I figured a slim amp would be nice with it, I'm a noob with portable amps, I kind of just want to get my first one to get my feet wet, I can always use it with my ipod if it's not really necessary for the Cowon omx980 combo.
 
Do you have any recommendations for a sub $250 amp that might be good with earbuds, doesn't have to be slim.
