Hey guys!

Sorry in advance if this topic has come up many times or if I'm posting in the wrong place!
So, I have recently purchased The E7 Headphone amp from FiiO (Or specifically, Micca) and it has been great!
... For the 1 day that it had actually worked. I've had it about 3 days now and for some odd reason, there is not sound output
at all. I've googled around for similar issues but, I'm having a lot of luck finding any so, I figured someone here may have
some insight as this device seems to be pretty popular.

As I plug in my iPod or any other device into the AUX-IN, the indicator on the LCD displays "AUX" but, while my headphones or
other sound-out source in plugged in, there is absolutely no sound, not even a very faint sound. I thought maybe I should try and
reset the device, so I did. No change at all. The device is a little too simple to use, so I cannot imagine I'm doing much wrong and
it seems more likely that the product is defective.

I want to avoid shipping items back and fourth and wait days and days to get my device back (and even longer not using it) if this
piece of hardware is always going to just break down at some point. If there is anyone here who has experienced this and/or has
any type of insight or recommendation, please let me know! I really liked what I got from the E7 when it first worked but now, I have
been quite down and now getting very annoyed. I really want something that works as advertised and actually operates from more
than 1 day (a few years at least would also be nice since my SB-16 still works)

Thanks a lot! :)

Contact the seller for options.

Have you tried both headphone outs? Is it fully charged? What volume level is it on? Does it have sound when used as a soundcard through the computer (i.e. DAC+amp)?

I have tried both headphone ports and even tried to amplify them via an external source. The device is fully charged though, I cannot see how it would matter if it being fully charged or not would affect any output whatsoever. I set the volume at 30 by default and move through various levels just in case 30 is for some odd reason, too low. I have not tried using the device as a soundcard through a computer and actually, I recall reading that you need to have an E9 to do such a thing. At any rate, that has nothing to do with the headphone amplification. That's all I have for now! :frowning2:

Thanks for your response!

There is a USB cable for you to plug into the computer, after you have done that it should automatically install the driver and work as a soundcard. (You will need to use E7 as the sound device instead of your onboard.

No, you don't need E9 for that, as E7 is a DAC+amp and a standalone amp. Any soundcard is only DAC+amp with many extra features. E9 is a desktop amp, designed to replace E7's "portable" amp while used at home.

This has everything to do with amplication, because used as a soundcard E7 will being using both its DAC and its amp. If it works this way, mostly likely the AUX port is broken somehow, otherwise your the amp portion of E7 is broken.

Great info, thanks! I have tried this and shows great promise in the future, but with only another device as there is still zero amplification. So either way, I will need to return the device, because the amp is broken? I say that because anytime I plug something into AUX-IN, the indicator on the LCD shows AUX, but there is not amplification. I really don't want to deal with the trouble :frowning2: But, I suppose I must do what's best and send it in for a replacement.

Thanks for your help!
