Rock headphones

I do agree with the guys who recommended the HD25's. They are outstanding with rock music.

I'd look at either the M50 or SRH440, more so the M50. The 840 will sound basically the same as the 440 from an iPod, so the 840 isn't really worth it. I've never heard the HD 25, so I can't comment there.

Dont bother with the 225s - get yourself a pair of SR60i, read bilavideo's mod thread and strap yourself in for a helluva ride, friend.

This except maybe get a sr80i or sr125i. Then get a decent amp. For full throttled enjoyment!

I really wish people would actually do some research first. Run a search for 'rock headphones,' at least.

HD25s or SR80s are both great for rock. There's also Bilavideo's mod, but somehow I doubt the OP is going to mod their headphones.
SR80s are open so they have no sound isolation, and are also fragile, but they have an airy sound the HD25s lack. The HD25s sound just as good with great isolation and more durability, but they don't have that 'open' feeling. The HD25s are suitable for on-the-go use. The Grados ought to stay at home.

So there you go: two great rock headphones in a nutshell. Choose which one suits your needs.

There is no way I would use a Grado outside of home, or any open headphone for that matter. Unless I'm taking a walk in my (quiet) neighborhood or something, the sound would be extremely annoying to others.

Don't like Grados for metal, AKGs are the way to go, a lot more clarity. Although I do have one of the older 600 ohm Monitors which they no longer produce so my opinion may not reflect what the newer AKGs are.

Too late...the Op have the HD25's. A nice option, besides Grado.

The Grados Get hella Loud! when blasted! and Who cares! IF you love your music you won't care if anyone can hear it!. All that matters is that you can and you can enjoy it!. Yes they Let sound it but at a point when you turn them up you wont hear anything but them. PS they are Great liL speakers when you put them around your neck, they are like a lil boom box!

Mr Johnny, one more exclamation point and I will have to put you in the naughty corner. If it was a Spanish board, things might be different, hombre :)
