I've been running my teralink on usb power until I hooked up today an external 12v adaptor for kicks. wow, what a difference that makes. It's a sizable improvement on many aspects- the main thing that im appreciating most is how much smoooother it has become. So now I wonder how much better the dedicated power supply would be. Has the function been served with the lowly power adapter that I took from the satellite tv box? or does the high quality components of teralink's own dedicated power supply mean more greatness to come? let me know of your experiences/opinions. thanks.

If you think it will make a difference to your existing system then sure it is worth the price.  Personally, I run my Teralink X2 off a 9volt battery using a battery snap with a barrel connector on the end.
I cannot comment on their PSU's as I have never tested one myself.  If you get one come back and post your impressions.

I change audio setups rather frequently so I am unsure of exact battery life for the unit.I will probably get inventive and add a rechargable pack to the mix, possibly after some research.

I tried the X2 PSU on a USB isolation dongle, it sounded worse than a laptop PSU to my ears....Teradak is Teradak. Their point of reference is prolly their super-awesome NOS DAC's, or sumthing.

They have another PSU, that's much more expensive: http://www.teradak.com/ProductsView.Asp?id=24

Cheap is cheap...If I were you I'd get a lab PSU from a serious maker, 1mV ripple will be OK'ish.

just gave 9v battery a try. it's even better than the cheap power adapter. the bass is more defined and the soundstage deeper. i only perceive it as a minor improvement though. i took some pure silver wires and hooked them directly to the teralink's pcb. and then once again to the 9v battery. the wire's pretty malleable so it stays in place without any soldering.

wua that was short. 2 hours after the setup the battery ran out of juice to where the led on the teralink dimmed and stopped communicating with the pc. i admit i bought the cheapest battery i could find but how much longer could a duracell last? and for the same money i'd still invest in a psu than a rechargeable battery.
