2 encoders in 1 album?

I was having a look at what encoder this one legitimate store uses and to my surprise I see on this particular EP:

''track 1'' - FhG

''track 2'' - LAME3.97

''track 3'' - LAME3.97

''track 4'' - FhG

Windows and both Audio Identifier and Mr. QuestionMan agree 100% that different encoders are used.

I cannot hear anything in the music but isn't this a bit weird or am I missing something?

I've seen Lame 3.96 and Lame 3.98 on some amazon.com albums before.  They were on the free downloads of a jazz sampler.  Very weird indeed, but they all sounded great. :)

Well, a (preview) freebie wouldn't bother me that much. I bought this one at Boomkat where I'd expect proper conversions from on any release. Before confronting them I thought I'd check here first so I might have a case.

I bought one album and two EPs in MP3 at Boomkat. The info about the encoder used is the same across all files for any given album/EP. One EP says LAME3.98b on all tracks, the other EP and the album don't have the "tool" tag at all.
