To be honest I only felt it the moment I put it on my head. After that it was fine, I've only had it on for 1 hour plus though.

If you decide to bend the metal arms, make sure you don't bend the plastic parts of the headband and break it. Only bend the metal, carefully. If it fits without a problem, then don't fix what isn't broken.
Good listening.

A portable amp will improve sound quality and make the headphones go louder, but that won't increase the headphones' isolation from noise in your environment. Open back headphones are meant for use in quiet environments.

This. 100%

If anyone wants to listen to music on the go, then open back headphones are pretty much a no go.

Sure, you can do it, but it will not be ideal by any means.

Either way, it doesn't matter what I think. Seriously, do what you like with your stuff. If using an HD-600 in the mall is your thing, then go for it.

Yeah I won't take the risk & accept it the way it is. Just amazing. Will save up for an amp in the future.

The moment it hurts your enjoyment of the HD600, don't hesitate to fix it. There's no reason to suffer. Just follow our instructions and you won't break them.

Especially since the HD600 is such an easy-to-fix headphone. Some headphones you just have to live with it, but the HD600 you can make it just right for you.

It's easy, you just extend the metal arms fully and bend those. You don't bend anywhere near the plastic.

Ah alright so extend the arms fully and bend the steel instead of the plastic headband. Alright will try to do that if I feel any discomfort long term.

Btw should I get the Little Dot Mk3 now or aim for something better in the future instead? Currently driving it off my Grace M9XX alone.

I see you're expecting some TH-X00's soon. Let me know how they sound when you do receive them. I was surprised by how much I enjoy them compared to my HD600s for regular listening..

They do so much good and very little wrong IMO. I had to compare them directly to my HD600s to find them very close but more of a "you're there" with the HD600 and the TH-X00 having better bass authority and balance with the rest of the sound. I think the bass tightens up a bit too with leather aftermarket pads like the Alpha pads or Lawton angle and the highs are further away from your ears than the small (uncomfortable) stock pads.

One thing for certain is they're better all round headphones then the HD600 if you listen to a wide variety of music. I find the HD600 just doesn't have enough subbass to handle the rumble of a lot of modern music.. bass is there but too diffuse. HD600s though are the king of vocals and have a perfected midrange. The TH-X00 are quite close though and I wouldn't say they are worse either.. very sweet midrange and not sucked out like my first-time impression of the TH900

Thanks for the nice output. Yeah I'm expecting the Purpleheart soon, probably in a week or two. I will definitely compare between them, with the hope that I'll still use my HD600 after (haha).

I agree with the vocals part. So damn good, better than all the gears I've ever had. I will keep it for my vocal & rock songs. True, especially mainstream music, everything is bass nowadays.
