This is our other one. Now 18 years old. Sorry this has degraded to a cat pic on the internet interruption.

He/she looks pretty good for it's age.  Cute little guys.  No need to apologies zaxdad, including the picture of my cat those are three cool cats !

Asked this once before but got no response. Anyone heard the HD600 with the Keces HA-171 amp? I've been toying with getting these for awhile now. I have the DT880 and AKG K612 and like them both... had the HD598 and did not enjoy them. Heard the Keces might be good with the Senn's. Any input? I listen to all types of music and am more of a detail\analytical type listener.

I'm not sure if you'll like HD600s. I've got the HD558s and the HD600s and I'd almost describe the 600s as just being a cleaner and clearer version of the 558s. More balanced response with tighter bass. And I hear the HD598 is just like a nicer version of the 558s so if you don't like those, I'm not sure if you'll like the HD600. It could be you just aren't a fan of the Sennheiser sound. Then again, the HD600 is tuned to be much more balanced than the HD5x8 series.

Better yet, I have the television turned off.

Honestly I think the HD 6XX sound very different than the 5x8 series. I personally dislike the HD 5X8 series but I really like the HD 6XX series. They don't sound all that similar to me. The sound character of the headphones to me is very different despite somewhat similar tuning. The HD 6XX is a lot more refined as well, it becomes more obvious with higher end gear.

I think I've decided to give the Schiit audio a try.Does it make sense to order a Magni 2 uber and an original Modi? I'm trying to stay at about $250.00. Or a Magni 2 and a Modi 2. Seems like the amp would make a bigger difference.
Thanks for any input.

I think they only have the Modi Optical, then the Modi 2 (which uses USB only). Personally, I'd pay a little bit more to get the analog output section Uber upgrade plus the other input options, but if you're really on a tight budget, then as long as you won't need the other inputs then by all means get the basic version.
