I've only had them for like 20 minutes and even without a burn-in or brain burn-in I really like the sound signature on them and the also have much more detail than I was expecting.  I'll have more impressions later so for now I'm just going to listen.

I bet you find you end up listening for long periods.  Once I start, I'm in for a while.

Man I love the way these sound, laid back but with just enough energy and the detail is better than I was expecting (though still not to the level of the HE-400 but I wasn't expecting them to be).  I could listen to these for hours and hours at a time and they remind me of something like the BA200 or RE262 IEM's with they're sound signature.

So far the EDM I've been sampling with them all sound great plus I'm using my new Colorfly C3 DAP I got today as well.

Anyones thoughts on a Lyr 600 pairing?  I was originally thinking Asgard 2, but my budget was upped.  I know it's overkill.  I don't care.  I have a V8 in my truck.

The Canadian distributor is supposed to have these back in stock mid month.

I would like to do the same thing with my Hd600s. I'd rather get a lyr and bifrost and be able to keep those for a while and have the ability to upgrade to hd800s or lcd3s with out buying a new dac/amp.

Do the HD600's change at all with burn-in?  I've never been I big believer in that but sometimes you can notice a little difference like the resolution gets a bit better or other things like that.

We have more day-to-day variation in our ears' performance than can be achieved from headphone burn in.

Okay I'm thinking about taking the next step.So far I own The VSonic GR07 and A900x with no amp. My next step would be to buy an amp or amp/dap. My first thought would be the Fiio e11 good price, the E17 amp/dap or would the E12 work with no Dap. My HP would either be an open HD 650 or 600. Or do I need to go to Magni or Magni/Modi. How close would I be if I got just the HD598 or AD 900x. I'm enjoying all this but I'm not a professional just for enjoyment.

Thanks

Fiio E09K and HD600 is my recommendation, over the E12. Though the E12 is quite good, I would only get it if you need portable.. You can get the HD600 for $299 from www.razordogaudio.com w/ coupon code RAZORDOG100 and an E09K for about a hundred. I like Miccastore, though sometimes you can get a deal at Sonicelectronix.. Unless you need a DAC. I used a line out from my ipod and am very happy.

Don't underestimate the HD600.

I agree, with all the IEM's I had and heard I never experienced any type of mechanical burn-in just only brain but people will tell you that the Vsonic GR07 change a lot with burn-in and even Vsonic says it take like 100 hours for them to sound their best.

I could see how headphones might have some slight changes in sound because of the driver size and it loosening up over time but again I haven't heard any before.

The portability would be nice but a guess it's not a must so just the EO9k should do it. I know the HD 600 are 299.00 at razordog and and 399.00 for the HD650 or refrubs for 359 on Amazon for the HD 650's. My source would be my Mac book using MOG. So the Fii0 e17 are not as good as e09k. Please give me your best shot.

I agree that very slight changes can occur while the diaphragm loosens up a little.  But, these are small changes.

There is nothing magical or scientific about 100 or 200 hours of burn in time.  Do you know the biggest reason manufacturers state some huge number like 100 or 200 hours?  It's called expectation bias.  Say, you just bought a new set of headphones to replace your old beloved set.  They are going to sound different than your old set.  At first, you may not like the sound.  But, lo and behold, the manual says give them 100 hours to sound their best!  So, you run them in for 100 hours.  While doing so, you are not as likely to return them.  While you listen, your brain burns in.  And, finally, since you believe they will sound better after 100 hours, they will.  Expectation bias.  Everyone wins.  The manufacturer isn't dealing with a return and you love your new headphones.
