any idea what this might be?

i think its a power transformer or something im hoping its something that can be used to run a 240v amp on 120v. ooo please let it be lol.

transformer = yes, but I don't think it will do what your looking for. The secondary (output) is 12 volts AC at 2 amps and it does not say what the primary (input) voltage is.

 

You can buy a transformer to do what your are looking to do from any commercial electrical supplier as they are used regularly in wiring commercial buildings.

I googled "240 volt AC to 120 volt AC, single phase transformer" and found these guys- (never bought anything from them myself)

You need to know the power needs, in watts, of the device you are using and choose accordingly.

Additional thought - Check with the amp manufacturer. Some amps have the ability to run on 240 vac built into them, with a simple internal modification. Yours might be one.

 

Looking at the pictures, is this a hand built amp? It may be possible to accomplish what you need with what I see there, but the wire connections to the transformers aren't visible in the picture.
