Hi All,

If you are interested in classical music (especially the fusion of Indian classical music with western music) you should certainly check out recordings by Water Lily Acoustics. They are recorded almost exclusively in the binaural format. They are available on www.hdtracks.com. I have downloaded a couple of albums and they are by very far the best tracks I have heard on my headphone system. The sense of space and airiness is amazing. Check them out if you are interested.

Thanks,
akart.

PS: I have no affiliation with WLA. I just want to share an amazing experience.

Just to not confuse anyone here, these are excellent stereo recordings but they are NOT binaural dummy head recordings in the way most of us use the term "binaural". Binaural here simply means stereo.

That being said, Water Lily does an amazing job at capturing their artists. Amazing. Go out and buy some of their stuff. I really like this one:

With crossfeed, this stuff sounds even more insanely amazing. I am using crossfeed on the Meier StageDAC and listening on a T1. That album is next on my download list.

All their recordings are done by one person - Kavi Alexander - who is also the founder of WLA.
Here is an interview with him from 2007 by TNT Audio: http://www.tnt-audio.com/intervis/waterlily_e.html

Yes, it is an awesome album. I have the following albums right now and plan to buy more:

1. The Court of the Chera King (this recording is phenomenal - I think even better than Tabula Rasa).
2. Tabula Rasa

Next on my list is: A Meeting by the River (album art is in the post above)
