New Beyer DT1350

While we are on amps, I'll shamelessly promote my FS Corda Arietta  It is simillar to Focker's Jazz!

I'm using my little beyers more and more on the go as compared to with my home setup however. T51/E17/DT1350 is currently my best portable rig I'll say. Not as great for on-the-go and transport, but if I am to stay in the library or lab for a few hours, that combo will be with me.

I would comment on fiio e17 , but its the only thing I have, I notice that it have less volume than with direct to my galaxy note 2, something is off here I guess?

What volume and gain setting are you on?

Inside the menu there should be a setting where you can change the max volume to 60, then check if it is still sounding quieter than your galaxy note. If it still is, you have a defect unit

Hmm then what do you mean by your e17 is softer sounding to your galaxy note, if you are only using 20~24/60 on the E17?

Yeah it sounds way softer , unless I crank up the fiio e17 volume as well

If I understand you setup, you are not using an LOD cable to provide proper line out volume so you need to crank up the volume on your phone to provide proper input level to your E17.

From there you should only adjust the volume from the E17 and leave the source volume almost maxed out.

Hope that make sense.

Yeah I am not using any LOD cable , so I need to crank up the volume of the fiio e17  or the phone volume to match up to what I can get for around half of the phone volume
, it does normally when used as a DAC(plugged in to my pc) btw

Anytime some new hot product comes out - e.g,, the VModa 100s - you're likely going to see people who dump what they have in order to get something new. Just in the last year that I've  been here, I've seen periods where the Sennheiser 650s were all over the classifieds....then it was the LCD-2s....two of the headphones people consider among the best in their price classes. There are a lot of people who just want "latest and greatest", whether it's better or not (and in many cases, it's not). If there are lots of 1350s for sale, take advantage of the buyer's market! lol

Yeah, people here switch headphones A LOT lol. There is absolutely nothing wrong with these that would entail selling them off except for the fact they are definitely not powered that well with an iphone. On my Denon these things are pure glory for the price.
