Nothing can come close to the portability of the Koss Pro DJ 100 for a full sized headphone. They kind of fold up a bit and the cups can even lay flat. These things make the M50, 280 and everything else look huge!
They sound amazing too for the price. The only problem is that they do have a stupid coiled cable!

Here's the pictures from ljokerl's review. They're not mine and I hope this is OK.

they really arnt that portable, they take alot of current, I had them hooked to have my Ipod literally at a pain full level just to have bass presents, they also were either very muted or super loud unamped no in between.
also I would suggest the HFI-580 or m50 AKA the gateway drugs of the hi-fi world.

Well, it depends on the source. If it's a smaller Ipod like the Shuffle or a Sansa Fuze, then you're right. They're not too horrible without an amp now on my Ipod Touch. Not compared to my last pair. I do suggest them with an amp though for sure. Still, for me having to haul around a small amp with them is still better than carrying the M50. I guess it all depends on a person's idea of portable. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one here thinking they sound their very best when amped.

I just don't agree with how the DJ100 plus an amp is any less portable than an M50. Even a small Nuforce Mobile might be OK.
