I'm not sure if this is the right forum, but this issue is killing me. Since it's christmas thought i would treat myself to some wharfdale 10.1's and a cambridge azur 350A amp. (student budget) Anyway the issue is afer wiring up for some reason the woofer in the left speaker isn't working at all, where has the tweeter and the right speaker are completley fine. I'm hoping someone might have a suggstion to what is causing this :/

Assuming they are biwirable, and that you are only using one set of inputs, one quick thing to check is that the little pieces of metal on the back that connects the left/right inputs is properly seated and making contact.  If they are not, than it may result in only hearing sound from the woofer or tweeter.

i can only parrot the above two posters, check the gold plated brass jumpers on the back :) if they are correctly and firmly in place and it still don't work, swap the speakers and see if the faulty speaker works on the other channel.

good luck :)

Just re-wired and i'm pretty sure the plates are in place :/ What are the chances that the woofer itself could be faulty?

Before doing anything else, make absolutely sure the plates are indeed making proper contact, on my B&W's it does not take much to shift one ever so slightly.  As another test, you could try removing the two jumpers from the working speaker and swapping them into the non-working one; there is a slight chance that one of the plates is off by a bit.
These being new speakers, I would say the chances are small that the woofer is faulty, but stranger things have happened.  Assuming it is still under warranty, it would be easier to just exchange it for another.  I've done my share of re-foaming, recapping, and mucking around with crossovers over the years and it could be any number of things that are the problem.  A loose connection is an easy fix, but I'm not sure how comfortable you would be with opening them up, especially if you can just bring it back.
