I have $400 (US) to invest in a Tube amp & other upgrades. OK here is what I have got so far.............not much: one set of Sennheiser HD555's & one crappy CMOY amp. I want a Tube amp because....... well I want one. So do I shoot the wad on an Amp & if so which one (PM's welcome) or do I upgrade something else?

Oh ... almost forgot.....this is strictly for my PC. Non-Portable. I'm thinking that I might need to look at a DAC & a soundcard as well...   I'm a bit lost on to what I can do

My current setup is a DIY Bottlehead Crack w/Speedball upgrade, fed from a HotAudio DacDestroyer off my laptop. Total cost is actually just around $400.

A Little Dot MKIII tube amp plus a Firestone Audio Spitfire DAC would be a good sounding setup for ~$400.

I'm just curious. I realize that the Valhalla is known as A really good piece of Schiit. But is there any bad Schiit out there? I really don't have that much money & I just want to make sure that I don't get any bad Schiit if it can be avoided.

Sorry I just had to do that.

Did you see the post about the new Schiit Lyr that is coming in march.  Hybrid tube amp that will power just about anything you throw at it...  I want one badly and a big ortho to hook up to it.

Recommend Darkvoice 336se for your Senn HD555.
