In the U.S. that would be on the high side (by $100 to $130) for the D7000--at least before is was announce (and them pulled back) that the D2000, 5000 & 7000 line would be discontinued.

That's a decent list.  I would replace the K 701 with the Q 701 and the D2000 with the D5000.

Don't worry, thank you very much for trying to help me. I assume you mean 'portapros', I looked them up, I must admit, I don't like the look of them but that isn't a problem, I am more concerned about the functionality. Firstly, Isolation is virtually nil on them which is a bit of a problem, especially as I will be using these in the car and I don't want to turn up the volume masses, nor do I need no noise though externally. Comfort seems better on the Koss but I am assuming that is because they aren't closed back but as said before, the disadvantage is Isolation. The build quality on the m30 does look better. I have got £50 to spend so I may as well spend it, so I am probably still going to look at the m30s although I will keep the Koss in mind. I will listen to the m30s in the shop when I get time soon and if I don't like them, then I will have a look at the Koss as they do seem next best. @luberger, the price for those denon ahd7000s at 450 is very good.

@ Music Guy321 the kicker hp541 seems like a good choice, and do do the m30's. You seem like you really want the m30's do that's what I would go with, and when you're going to upgrade you could get the m50's

Ok, well, what I will do is give the m30s a try in the shop and then go from there. I love the look of the m50s but they are just a bit too expensive. So yes, I am sure the m30s will get me through the next couple of years of college and then into my uni a bit, depending on whether I have got bored of them or not! They are relatively cheap as phones so I think will last me a few years at least. When I go test the m30s in the shop, i am going to bring my classic, I'll put a few lossless songs on it to see how they sound as well as the 256kbps. More importantly though, which songs should i use to test the phones? I'd guess something rock and roll (maybe highway to hell), something pretty instrumental (maybe praise you by fatboy slim?) something electronic (blue shift by lemaitre or 19-2000 souclhild remix by gorillaz?) Then something 80s pop and some folk or Indy? What do you suggest?

P.S. the kicker hp541 looks pretty good, I'll look into it!

So, now for the problem...budget! Budget is £60 (I am in the UK) I am afraid I can't push any further than that! I have done some research and the first headphones I came across were the ath-m50s but I had to dismiss them due to cost. So I kept looking and have found their little brother the m30. I can get them in my local shop for £50 which is a competitive price in the UK and I'd always rather buy in a shop than the web, I can also listen to them before I buy. However, are there any other headphones I should consider in this price category? I do like Audio Technica and I think they are good value for money but I am open to other recommendations that would fit the bill. I hope I have put enough info here!

Admitedly, I only have 1 radiohead song...Street Spirit. Do you know any other things I could use, I was thinking maybe a selection of genres because that is really what I listen to? Any ideas would be appreciated. Btw, I am liking the look of the kicker! the only problem is sourcing it in the UK. Also, ideally, I'd like to hear it first. Has anyone heard the kicker hp541, if so, what do they think of it?

hello. i would like to get a recommendation for some headphones. i own a pair of swan MKIII speakers and while i love them, i also love my music loud sometimes and where i'm living doesn't really play fair with that. so while i may sell the speakers, i at least would like a headphone setup that can match or out do the speakers until i am able to get some when i am able to listen to whatever volume i please.
 
i would prefer a headphone that has bass in it but not a lot. just enough. a punch and some feeling to it but not bloated or crazy. it's there when it needs to be and gone when it's not necessary. i'm a bit fond on treble and midrange. so i suppose i'm looking for a "neutral" headphone. i would also prefer it to have some isloation but not completely. open is not a deal breaker, but completely closed is. i have a DAC (HRT Streamer II), but if there is one i could use as an upgrade i am willing to make the change. 
 
my budget is $800. i'm looking forward to your suggestions.

Which is better, monster turbine pro coppers or westone 2s? I listen to hip-hop, rock, pop, oldies, classical, and some blues. I mainly want the turbines because I heard that monster's supertips are amazingly comfortable. However, I also want the westone 2s's sound quality. Thanks for your help!

That's amazingly good price in Europe. Cheapest I've seen is probably 599£. (And returned open box currently 499£ in Amazon.co.uk)
