So I need new headphones, at around 70-80$. These are my options so far:
Sony zx-600
Pioneer se-mj551
JBL j55
akg k520
All I want is a clean sound, with just a little accent on the basses. Any thoughts?

In the U.S. you can get the better Sony Sony MDR-ZX700 or DRZX701IP Monitor Headphones for iPhone for $60 to $70 from Amazon.

They are difficult to beat in that price range, althougth their emphasis is on the mids.  See:

I currently own Senn HD 558 which are a little bass lacking for my tastes. So I'm looking to upgrade them with headphones that have a slight emphasis on bass as I listen a lot to metal and rock. The budget would be around $400. I was looking at V-moda m-100, but I'm having some concern about the clarity of their sound. I plan to acquire Shiit Asgard amp shortly,  so I guess headphones with low impedance would be better. Any thoughts?

Want full-size headphones that don't leak (a lot) of sound
Budget is up to £130 British Sterling.
Listen to mainly bass-heavy music (EDM, dubstep etc.) but with the odd k-pop/pop, rock, violin thrown in there (Lindsey Stirling who is fantastic might I add)
Comfort is massively important. M-Audio Q40s gripped my jaw like a vice grip and absolutely killed the left side of my jaw. DT770 Pro 80s were comfortable after a bit of stretching but the sound to me sounded a bit..distant. I have a pretty big head/ears and I wear glasses.

Any suggestions guys? Looking to buy something online today/tomorrow.

Looking to buy ASAP

Once again I’ll mention that headphone comfort is a very individual thing.  We can point you to headphones that are generally considered to be comfortable and mention others that have garnered complaints for being uncomfortable.  However, the only way to know for sure is to wear them yourself for a time equivalent to your longest listening session.

I almost never make recommendations of specific cans to folks seeking bass heavy headphones and will not deviate from that here.

Which website are good to find used or refurbished open-air headphones deal for sennheiser or Audio-tech?

I want to buy a open-air one about $120-$160 to try. Any suggestions?

Thank you.

I bought my refurbished Sennheiser HD518 from www.vminnovations.com.  I also heard of dahmart and dakmart.  Of course, I recommend that you do some research before buying from any used or refurbished equipment seller.  I noticed that you already found out about The Deals Thread...

So I just put a pair of AKG K271 mk ii through a sort of trial period, these being my first real good headphones for a frame of reference.

I say trial because the right cup went out, and between heavy dismantling (beyond taking the inside of the right cup out to check the wires, which are good) and a straight 3 day refund, I thought Id go for the refund and open my options more, so Im looking again at good headphones. Some points of contention that I realized with the AKGs;

Very comfortable, loved the velour pads much more than anything, and the gimbal suspension system worked extremely well for me (ironically having possibly been the downfall). With that in mind, I would prefer a stronger more robust headband design, particularly because Im constantly mobile, especially with the work Ill be doing with this class of headphone, so many kudos if a recommendation is robust, and is easily wearable around the neck. Its also big that the cans be sealed at least semi-well, with the areas that I work. Both equally to keep all the sound in and not letting any sound out.

Clearer mids and highs than Ive ever noticed, besides a great sounding band + pa system and seasoned sound man.
Bass was very clear, wasnt experienced what I would imagine "one note bass" is, unlike any previous headphones I had (skullcandy titans + skullcrushers, sony in-ear, monoprice 8320) although it could have been more prominent. In the end, I prefer clearer and more distinguished bass over heavy thumping bass, although I wouldnt mind both as long as mids and highs are still clear.

Also of note; although nice, the automute switch bugged me more than aided me, particularly because it was very much hit or miss..

It was also a big plus for the AKG's having changeable pads and particularly headphone cables, so if a recommendation doesnt have that, it has to be an otherwise amazing set of cans.

What kind of headphones, knowing those points, could anyone recommend? Beyerdynamic or audio-technica both seem like respectable companies that have the sound signature Im looking for.

My general taste in music is jazz, rock, instrumental/soloist and guitar virtuoso (Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, John 5, Buckethead)

Budget is around 200, more if the price very much justifies the purchase. Also worth mentioning, I got a Fiio e07k amp to help power the AKG's, so keep that in mind.

Over ear: KRK KNS 8400

On ear: Sennheiser HD25-1 II or closeout on Beyer DT 1350 here:

http://www.shorelinemusic.com/closeouts/closeout-beyerdynamic-dt1350/

Im very much liking those KRK's, Im wondering how they didnt come up in my searches before. Even found them for $139 on amazon, does that seem reasonable for them?

Also wondering about them, keeping in mind that they are (from all the readings I found on them) pure reference phones, do they still allow that which is good about a recording to come out? Ergo, if the bass in a song was made to be punchy and hard, and was mixed right and all, does it let the bass get punchy, or if a song was written and mixed correctly to let the mids and highs shine and come through with clarity, does it allow for that? Or does it keep all sound neutral out of its signature?
