Red star tips for me, originally used the orange ones but keeps falling out of my right ear.  Weird.

Star Tips are the new tips from Westone.  Red is simply the size.  They mark the different sizes by the color on the base of the tips.

I purchased the Orange due to being the largest. If you want to swap me a pair for a pair then sure I will try them out but having large canals they in theory should be too small.
 
I have made a little progress, trimmed the tips to the same length as the large grey silicone (when stood on a table) and only push them half way on the stem. Better fit overall and sound ok. Kind of defeats the object having to mod a tip to sound as good as a tip you have.

Noise isolation, at least in my ears, is a lot less than what I was getting with the Complies.  But these to me have better treble, I am guessing because of less absorption.  The bass and mids haven't changed for me as much as the change in the treble.
 
They're also easier to insert, no rolling to compress needed.

You may or not have read my posts but have tried Shure olives, Westone foamies, now the star tips but for me the instant shove the W4 in your ear, instant seal and sound heaven is still the original grey silicone.
 
Obviously everybody hears things differently, the same way as people see things differently. How do you find the grey silicone tip?

I can't say I've tried every available tip for my 4Rs, but I did try all the ones that came in the box, then I tried the Comply T100s, and that what I used for a few months.  They were comfortable and they sounded good to me.
 
Then I tried the Star tips, and I liked what they did to the higher freqs.  And, as you mentioned, putting my IEMs into my ears became a lot easier.  So that's what I'm using now.  Are you referring to different tips when you say Grey silicone?
 
TBH,  I've never tried the Shure Olives.  I guess maybe I should, seeing as how so many people recommend them.

I see, I tried all the tips that came in the box, as I mentioned, and that one didn't suit me as much as the Comply T100s.   In retrospect, I suppose that tip is more similar to the Star Tips that I've switched to, I wonder if I really gave it a fair shake.
 
Maybe if I'm bored over the summer I'll revisit those tips to see if I like them better the second time around.

I am a little surprise as you scaled down from jh16 -> sm64 -> w4. JH16 and SM64 are my top fav iems, is there any reason for the scale down?

I don't think from Sm64 to westone 4 is a scale down by any means...?

balance. W4 did better than JH16.
SM64 is wonderful, but I prefer W4's top end, non-fatiguing. I also prefer W4's unique mids, even though it is not as clear as on the SM64, but it is magical.
Oh, btw, forgot to include the Fitear togo334, which I also owned twice and sold them twice... It sound wonderful with depth and probably one of the best vocal I've ever heard. Unluckily it is a bit too aggressive and intimate sounding that prevents me from listening them in longer sessions.
