I'm still trying to find a way to get the Denon HP700 more comfy, because i really like the sound, specially amped but cant stand the hard pads for more than one hour, my apparently oversized ears gets trapped between the pad and my head, hurts after one hour.

SO! i have a set of Koss qz-99, i really like them despite the dry, flat and untasty SQ, very solid build, more metal than any headphone i've seen, hard scratch resistant plastic cup and headband, but most of all, best passive noise isolation i've tried, party due to the soft rubber (apparently inflatable) and deep cups with an evil clamping force.

I took the qz-99 oval pads and fit them into the round hp700 ... this came up:

Isolation has clearly improved. but the pads arent deep enough and my ear touch the drivers ... so i grab some spare ksc75 cushions and set them inside ...

Found a small problem here, my ears wont go deep enough. but the comfort is a great plus, still they isolate, not more than they usually did (with the denon pads) seriously comfortable! and to my surprise the sound didnt change much, is that a bit more of bass i'm listening? perhaps is because of the amp. I dont know how to explain this but the high notes sometimes feels closer to mids than before, this is not good, I liked the highs in these cans.

I also have a spare Koss MV1 pads, same deal, soft rubber, seems to have air trapped inside and they tend to get a little hot, but i can stand that. they are deep enough but unfortunately they are not the kind of pads you can 'stuck' around the cans like the hp700, qz99 or any other regular pad.

They are also a bit oversized, but deep enough, i can put them of just to try them and feels very comfy.

if you see closer you can see the edges of the mv1 pad behind the denon's cup.

For a more permanent re-pading I'm thinking of remove the hp700 white/yellowish foam of the hp700 (see pict 1) and glue the MV1 pads with double sided adhesive tape ... but then again, they are a bit oversized and the bottom edge of the pads is 'free' Anyway, see pict 4.

meanwhile my QZ-99 are hanging pad-less and the denon looks like this:

pict 6

with the MV1 pads and some double sided adhesive tape hanging around near them...

I just thought of share this and if you guys have something to say please feel free to speak out.

In case anyone wants to know, I ended up going with the Koss MV1 pads and stick them with double sided adhesive tape.

A comparison with the original pads:

New pads are deeper and softer. sound is the same (which is a good thing)

Sorry about the bad photos.

Bumping this thread! Just got a pair of Denon HP700 and they sound really goood, and I am gonna use them as portabel cans. BUT, these aren't the most comfortable, and I would really like to switch the pads.

Do you know a place that sell some pads that can fit these?
