Hi.
Do you recommend Denon AH-D2000?
Most of the time I'm going to use my headphones at home .I think I will take them sometimes with me (train, bus, library).
Do you think Denon AH-D2000 will be practical as portable headphones(not to often)?
I can't use any full size headphones when I'm working;always using white ipod hp.
I into rock, metal and sometimes classic music.

Good or not for me.
Denon AH-D2000 or something else ??

Thanks

The D2000 is not a good idea for portable use. They do leak sound a lot and the cable is like a giant snake! It's would even be hard to wrap it up and put it in your pocket.

I don't find portable amps to be a good match for the D2000 to sound their best. Some may disagree with me. Unamped and for portable use I think the M50 is probably better.

The Denon 2000s are not portable.  They are closed phones, but really they are "semi-closed."  they leak out a lot of noise, they leak in a lot of noise.  But if you must use them portably, I pair mine with a Fiio E7 portable dac/amp and they sound great.

The M50 is on some kind of revival so you could look there as well as the Shure line. As a former D2000 owner, I wouldn't recommend them for portable use.

I use them maybe once every two months as portables but I agree with them, not good portables. I personally use M50's for cans and Bose ie2's for iems deepening on what I'm doing and where I'm going.

Agree with the others. This is an outstanding pair of headphones but for home use only. There is just not much clamping force. So unless you have a huge head they just wouldn't work for any kind of portability.

i use mine portably quite often. however, it depends on what kind of portable.
train and bus? no. library where once i plug it into source i don't do too much moving? yes. (not loud of course because, as mentioned, it starts leaking when you reach a certain level).

it's not the kind of portable where you can just pick them up and "toss" them. these denons like caressing. :-D

They don't clamp very hard which is part of their comfort so I can't say I'd want to be walking around with them. The cord is really long too, you'd have to coil it up in your pocket or something. And they leak far too much for any public use where your music would be intrusive such as the library. I'm also not sure they would be a good match for classical because of the recessed mids and very powerful bass. You may want something more subtle.
