Help with xbox in game chat sound

abit of the subject but i dint know where else to go... ive got the ad 700 headphones with the astro mix amp and a gooseneck microphone and its plugged into my xbox 360, but im struggling to hear my friends in party chat there very quite even when i turn my mix amp all way over to voice any ideas ppl

where are you plugging your mic? in the controller or mixamp?

i 1st tried into the mixamp but wasnt sure if it was working as no speach icon came up in game like it usely does so i swtiched to the controller and my friends could here me, but when they spoke it was very quite... if anyone else is using a mixamp and a heaphone without a built in mic could you check your settting on xbox so i can compare agaisnt mine maybe?

you have the y splitter with the mixamp to plug your headphones and your mic and then to mixamp?

So you have no cable from controller to mixamp? If so, that is the problem. You need that cable. If you don't have it, get it. If. Not go to your game audio and reduce the volume to 25%.
Or you can preferences, voice chat, and then reduce the game audio to below 50% and put the chat volume at 100%.

I think it might work. Based in what I see on sale on ebay. a 2.5 mm to 2.5 mm may work. you could go to a shop near you, get one and test, if it works keep it, if not return it.
